Our Story

Jim Gordon is Principal of Summit Group Consulting, a strategic communications company. Jim works with a range of clients to find, build and tell their stories.

Developing and leading innovative, results-generating communications campaigns are Jim’s expertise and passion. He has been managing teams that excel in all aspects of communications, brand and product launches, crisis communications and social media for over 20 years.

Prior to Summit, Jim was Group Vice President of Corporate Brand and Reputation for Time Warner Cable. In that role he led and developed teams that directed Corporate Social Responsibility, Community Investment and Employee Engagement. He was responsible for the company’s portfolio of community partnerships and investments, including Connect a Million Minds, a $100 million philanthropic initiative. Jim and his team worked to harness the resources of the Company to have a positive social impact on communities served while aligning with the core business. Gordon also provided strategic guidance to TWC executives on a range of issues.

Before joining Time Warner Cable, Jim held executive communications positions with Discovery Communications and Comcast Corporation.

Jim serves on the Board of Navigators USA and the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital Foundation. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Communications from Towson University, and his Master of Modern Studies from Loyola College. Jim is a graduate of CTAM University at Harvard Business School and the Arthur Page Future Leaders Program. He resides in Baltimore, MD.
